2003 Fishing Reports

March 7th 2003 Hello to everyone who visits this site. I can see there are a few now who look to see what is happening. The weather last year was mostly foul and I think we were out only seven times in all. A couple of you have already contacted me and I hope that this year will mean many more trips out. I reckon by the end of March will be the start.

May 30th 2003 At last a day at sea!!! Unfortunate weather conditions have meant a late start to the season.  A lovely day to start on with on occasional slight conditions.  Fishing was quite good, both of us catching cod up to three pounds, although we both seemed to lose bigger fish, but thats the "anglers tale". Things went of the boil as it were around 4 so we went back to Beadnell. Other boats had done just about the same as us.

June 21st 2003 A brilliant start to the day with the strong winds disapearing overnight we were on our way. The sea was like glass on our arrival at Beadnell. We motored out to about 1.5 miles of the point and found we were drifting slowly North. Both of us were soon into fish and considering the weather we both agreed we had never had such a good day. Each drift meant fish in the box, up to 4lb'ers. Coalies, pouting and even mackerel were caught which were a surprise. People in the car park were saying everyone were NOT catching fish. Well by 5.30 we had run out of bait (first time ever) and were reluctantly  heading back in with around 5 stone of fish. Other boats had not done as well as us , but I know patience gives a just reward.
